Respect local traditions: Israel is home to many religions and sacred sites — dress modestly when visiting holy places, especially in Jerusalem.

Currency: The official currency is the Israeli Shekel (ILS). Credit cards are widely accepted, but it’s handy to carry some cash for markets and taxis.

Stay hydrated: Summers can be very hot, especially in Tel Aviv, Eilat, and the desert regions — always carry water.

Try local food: Enjoy falafel, hummus, shawarma, and fresh Mediterranean seafood — food culture here is diverse and flavorful.

Security checks: Expect security screening at malls, stations, and public buildings — it’s standard and quick.

Dress for the season: Light clothing for summer, but bring layers in winter, especially for Jerusalem and the north.

Internet & SIM: Wi-Fi is widely available, but buying a local SIM card gives better coverage and data speed.

Cultural awareness: Greeting people with “Shalom” (hello/peace) is always appreciated, and hospitality is a big part of the culture.

Plan ahead: Book accommodations and tours early, especially during religious holidays like Passover and Yom Kippur.

Israel enjoys a mostly Mediterranean climate, with hot, dry summers and mild, rainy winters. The coastal areas such as Tel Aviv and Haifa experience warm weather most of the year, making them perfect for beach activities. The inland regions like Jerusalem are cooler, especially at night and during winter, while the southern desert areas (Eilat and the Negev) are hot and dry throughout the year.

The best time to visit Israel is during spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), when temperatures are pleasant and the landscapes are at their most colorful. Summer is great for coastal travel and nightlife, while winter is ideal for exploring historical and cultural sites.
